Julie is a film, television and theatre actor/improviser, born and raised in Calgary, AB.
She has performed on every major stage in the city and even on a few not-so-major stages. As a film actor, she was most recently seen in the award winning short, ONE NIGHT IN ABERDEEN (CIFF Best Overall Short, Enbridge Alberta Spirit, multiple AMPIA awards). Julie has been nominated for 5 Betty Mitchell Awards (Theatre) and was the recipient of 2. Most recently, she was nominated for an AMPIA Award (Film&TV) for her work in ONE NIGHT IN ABERDEEN.
As an improviser, Julie has appeared in the North American tour of Rebecca Northan’s award winning one woman improvised clown show, BLIND DATE, appearing as “Mimi”. She has also starred in 4 seasons of DIRTY LAUNDRY, Calgary’s only improvised soap opera.
ONE HIT DIE is Julie’s first web series and her first experience wearing squirrel pelts. Surprisingly, this is not her first time wielding an axe for a role.
